LondonWaste Ltd is wholly owned by the North London Waste Authority (NLWA) and is contracted to provide waste management services to it’s seven North London boroughs.
Board of LondonWaste Ltd Directors
The Board consists of three Executive Directors and five Non Executives Directors. The board meets monthly to make major decisions about the direction of the company. They also approve proposals for capital expenditure.

Chairman: Paul Wynn
Paul Wynn is a Chemical Engineer with a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Paul spent his early career in America and Holland designing petrochemical plants for major clients including G.E. and Dupont.
In 1993 Paul returned to the UK to join The Kelda Group (parent company of Yorkshire Water) where he worked for 20 years. While at Kelda he was Managing Director of various subsidiary companies including Global Environmental Ltd, their waste management business. This company owned and operated landfills, MRFs and two large Energy from Waste plants in Derby and Nottingham.
From 1998 Paul led the development of Kelda’s outsourced water operations business which had contracts with Welsh Water, Scottish Water, Northern Ireland Water and the Ministry of Defence.
Since retiring from Kelda Paul has been a Non-Executive Director with Lagan Construction Group (a £300m/yr. privately owned civil contracting company) and has been a consultant to several major companies in the Water and Renewable Energy sectors.
Peter joined LondonWaste Ltd as Managing Director in August 2015. Having joined from Skanska, where he was an Investment and Commercial Director, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects, he led the formation of a Joint Venture company with Ecotricity.
Prior to this Peter has held senior roles within Kelda / Yorkshire Water, with responsibility for business development and energy policy; Shanks where he led the close and operation of the Cumbria Waste PPP, and Parkwood with responsibility for PFI/PPP projects in the Defence, Education, and Leisure sectors.
Peter’s ﬁrst career was as an Army Ofﬁcer leaving the Army with the rank of Colonel. He saw operational service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq, he also served as an experimental test pilot.
Peter has a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Imperial College, an MSc (Cranﬁeld) and an MBA (OU). He has two teenage children and enjoys tennis, cycling, sailing and skiing.
Finance Director & Company Secretary: Mary Czulowski
Mary is a commercial and financial professional FCMA with 28 years’ experience at board level with UK public and private companies.
Mary has worked in the renewable sector for over ten years, holding senior positions with Britwind Ltd and West Coast Energy Limited. Prior to that, she was employed in manufacturing businesses in the large household and white goods sector.
She is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant and has a BA (Hons) in Sociology from Liverpool Polytechnic.
Non Executive Director: Mike Dunn
Mike has held various senior positions within the resource management and renewable sector over the last 20 years. Prior to his position as a founding director of Iona Capital Ltd, he was a Managing Director of Shanks PFI Investments and Chairman of ELWA Limited, which operates the largest MBT Facility in the UK. Mike is experienced in government procurement processes and long-term contracting within the renewable infrastructure sector. He was previously the partner responsible for PFI infrastructure advisory services at PKF and has held senior roles within the Veolia Group. Mike currently has various non-executive directorships within the sector, including Oaktech Limited, a company specialising in AD. He has a Masters Degree in Finance from the London Business School.
Non Executive Director: Louise Forrest
Louise is a former finance partner from an International Law Firm and currently works as a consultant. Louise has a strong background, working with businesses to consider and guide decision-making processes, as well as considerable practical experience of UK law.
Ray has held various senior positions within the resource efficiency sector as a volunteer, campaigner, educator, policymaker, programme manager, chief executive and consultant.
He was Director of Policy & Evaluation for WRAP from 2001-2008. Previously, he was Chief Executive of environmental charity Waste Watch from 1996 and held a number of other project management posts in the third sector. Ray has previously acted as an adviser to Defra (on the development of Waste Strategy 2000 and other policy developments) and the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit in the Cabinet Office (on the ‘Waste not: want not’ review of waste policy).
Ray was educated at the University of Lancaster and Cranfield University School of Management. He is a Chartered Waste Manager, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was appointed MBE for services to sustainable waste management in 1999.
Don is currently Global Managing Partner – Oil & Gas with ERM. Previously he has worked in a number of roles/sectors including Head of Technical Services with CIGNA International Insurance; VP, Technical Services with Amersham plc; Dean of Brunel University Business School & Professor of Risk Management and Group Senior VP, HSSE & Asset Integrity with BG Group.
In addition, he is a Non-Executive Director & Vice Chair of RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents); Board Safety Advisor for NATS (UK Air Traffic Control Services) and Chair of the Brunel Business School External Advisory Board & Visiting Professor of Risk Management at Brunel University, London.
Don is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and holds an MSc (Pollution & Environmental Control) and a PhD (Risk Management) from Manchester University and an MSt (Sustainability Leadership) from Cambridge University.
